Lookin’ Back.. // “I Gotta Feeling” by The Black Eyed Peas

With just a blink of eyes, another year is stepping down.. What has the year 2009 brought for us? Ups? Downs? Success? Failure? Happiness? Sorrow? Or simply a lesson to learn? How has it changes us all? Let’s look back.. First half of the year, it has brought me great success in my job at Fitness First, however it comes along with loads of back-stabbing that sees through some bias in certain management. I decided that it’s time to let go at my peak. I would still thank my good mates there for lending their support throughout. I was adventurous to freelance in the property industry, ‘dump’ in quite an amount of my savings but ended to be a wrong move as I was not one of those lucky ones who managed to receive tonnes of guidance to start off. After months of ‘self-exploration’, I decided to make a turn. Unwrap my wings and flap up to the airline industry as a Flight Steward. Finally, into one of my dream career. I enjoyed the trainings and flights though it gets a little tiring, I got to meet up new mates and personalities. Although interesting, it allows me to see through the dark side at the other end of the sky. Frankly speaking, the year started well for me and started to have a lousy fade. It seems like I am still on the same ground level throughout circling. Definitely, a major lesson learnt. Still, I am grateful to have great individuals who has always been there for me, you know who you are. I couldn’t thank you enough. Thank you! May the dark clouds drift away as the year 2009 steps down, and bring me the bright and sunny clear blue sky with the arrival of year 2010. Now, looking forward.. I gotta feeling that it’s gonna be good! “I gotta feeling.. ooo-hooo.. that tonight’s gonna be a good good night..”

DEC30 – Birth Of A Boy | |
| | Author: BerdleyChoong™ | Posted: Wednesday, 12:30 PM | Category: Blog 2009 | | ||
On December 30 1982 (00:02HRS) witnessed the first cry of a baby boy at Mount Alvernia Hospital, named Berdley Choong. He weighed 2,900GM (2.9KG) and measured with height of 50CM (0.5M). Leading a simple life, been through ups and downs these years, and he is still growing (to be stronger and better). Woke up in the morning only to realize a cluster of eye-catching red strikes in front of my MacBook Pro. Took a closer look, it’s a dish full of 8 Red Lucky Eggs 紅雞蛋 prepared by Mummy.. Love you, Mummy! On this day, I am going to stay simple spending quality time with my family. Somehow, I am “Gaga’tized”. Oh yes.. before I end off this post, I would like to thank you all who has kept the birthday greetings flowing in through my mobile, email and Facebook. Also, special thanks to the ones who have always been there for me. Hugs! “Rah rah ra ra ra.. Roma roma ma.. Ga ga ooh la la..”

Hectic Schedule – A Health Hazard
| | Author: BerdleyChoong™ | Posted: Saturday, 08:57 AM | Category: Blog 2009 | | ||
Repetitive last minute changes to my flights this December, leaving me with insufficient time to prepare and most importantly, rest.. I have not recover from a bad cold and cough since last weekend, but being new, I dare not apply for any medical leave. Hence, this is the first Christmas that I did not get to celebrate or at least have a nice dinner with my family or friends. Sigh.. I was wondering, how some individuals can be so irresponsible and selfish to think only about themselves and dump their duties to others. It is as if they are the only ones who wants to celebrate festive seasons while we don’t. What’s the purpose of having an advance schedule then? It disrupted my gym sessions and plans for my Individual Physical Proficiency Test (“IPPT”). Most importantly, I don’t even have the time to rest or at least to recover from my cold and cough! Speaking of which, my IPPT window is closing on December 29. Due to the ‘snowball’ effect, my original plan to take the test couldn’t be carried out only till today (which was the final session for the year)! Look at what those adhoc has caused.. I couldn’t perform well as I was still suffering from the cold. What’s worst? I’m on ‘Partial Failure’ yet eventually resulting a Failure for my 2009 window as there are no more test sessions available for me to attempt till January 2010. Damn! What a ‘BEST’ Christmas and Birthday present this result slip is! I am really hating this!

Baby Dimbo // Shy Pants | |
| | Author: BerdleyChoong™ | Posted: Sunday, 11:18 AM | Category: Blog 2009 | | ||
Look! My Baby Dimbo is ‘topless’! Or rather, he is shy, hence wearing a pants to cover his ‘glory’.. I was drifted through a rough journey to a destination I don’t want to be – ‘Ill-Land’.. probably due to the air pressure and insufficient rest. Off to brew some herbal tea – Luo Han Guo 罗汉果 and Chrysanthemum 菊花..

iPhone 3G S – The Fastest, Most Powerful iPhone Yet
| | Author: BerdleyChoong™ | Posted: Wednesday, 06:36 AM | Category: Blog 2009 | | ||
DECEMBER 09 2009 // 0000HRS – marks MobileOne (“M1″) official launch of the long awaited iPhone 3G S. Launch events are tented up at two prime locations – Paragon (Orchard Road) and West Mall (Bukit Batok). MobileOne has hyped up its launch and joining in the family to be one of Apple’s authorised iPhone dealers in Singapore. For myself, I owned a iPhone 3G (16GB Black), and I reckon it’s a good time to upgrade my gadget baby to iPhone 3G S (32GB Black). Hence, I joined in the queue at West Mall (since it’s nearer to where I stay) and positioned myself as the 206th individual in the line. I wasn’t quite pleased with MobileOne’s management of the customers. I, being one of the customers who have pre-ordered a set, had to queue with the walk-in customers. What’s the true meaning of pre-order and priority then? However, I thought having 205 customers ahead of me couldn’t be that bad afterall, should be done within two to three hours maximum. Never did I know, I was too naive.. On the third hour, I was merely almost half-through the queue. Making my experience worst, there was this guy behind me irritating the nerves out of me! He, someone who acts as if he is a pro with Apple products, speaks nothing but rubbish and irrelevant facts! “WE CAN PLAY FACEBOOK GAMES ON iPhone LIKE COOKING OR FISHING..” Since when Facebook game applications are available on iPhone version? “APPLE IS RELEASING NEW iPhone! NOW IS 3G S, THERE WILL BE 4G COMING! WITH TWO CAMERAS, ONE IN THE FRONT, ANOTHER AT THE BACK..” First of all, does he even knows the true meaning of 3G? It’s Third-Generation network, and not just another model serial numbers like Nokia N95, N97 or N75. Dumb-ass! Lastly, there is currently no 4G network available, hence no mobile phones are so-called 4G-compatible yet. “WE MUST OFF THE 3G TO SAVE BATTERY..” For goodness sake, 3G is a network, unlike Bluetooth! Dumb-ass! “iPhone BATTERY LIFE IS ONLY 2 HOURS TALKTIME AND ABOUT 4 HOURS STANDBY..” What’s the use of anyone to own an iPhone then? Please read up on product specifications, that’s the purpose of having them available. “iPhone AND ALL APPLE PRODUCTS LIKE MAC CAN BE EASILY HACKED AND OBTAIN VIRUS..” For kind information, Apple has the most secured system. “MAC USED TO BE CALLED OS, AND NOW IT’S LEOPARD..” OS stands for Operating System, and it’s initial title was “System”. Now, OS X has advanced with Snow Leopard. Dumb-ass! In the first place, I wonder why would he choose to jump in the queue for an iPhone?! If you are a coming-to-be Apple user, shut up and don’t pass off as a pro! As I had shut down my iPhone 3G before heading to the queue earlier on (ready for trade-in), I was using my Sony Ericsson K800i. When the MobileOne crew walked down the line asking if anyone is here for trade-in, I flashed out my set, the “pro” behind me saw and no noise from him immediately. Time strikes 4:45AM, only then I managed to make my first step in to the M1 Shop for verification process. But hey, it’s not over, I had to wait for my newly issued queue number to be called to process my application. Gosh! After the stage, I had to queue again for the cashier and there was only one counter! Paid. Time check – 6:10AM! I felt as if I have just finished a night flight duty. Finally, my new gadget baby is born..
